The YMCA is a charitable, not for profit agency that provides assistance to individuals and families who may not be able to participate. This is done by raising funds through the annual giving campaign, People Helping People, and the United Way. Money raised is used to offset membership and program fees for those who cannot afford to pay. Individuals must apply and provide household financial income records as well as household size. A percentage of fees will be waived based on a sliding scale that takes into account all income and number of people in the household. The YMCA will cover at most 40% of the annual membership cost. Recipients must reapply annually.
